raku
firing refers to an ancient technique of making pottery which
has been combined with African traditions and art forms to produce
a unique and beautiful range of pottery. Each piece is hand fashioned,
baked in a kiln, inidividually hand glazed and then fired to an
extremely high temperature. It is then removed from the heat and
placed in sawdust where it smolders. This process creates the
beautiful glaze.
